Me & James Playing A Riff

From my solo piece there’s a part that my fellow bass player friend was interested in, in drop D (drop the lowest string down a tone) using a clean tone with my telecaster and his cruiser amp. I didn’t want to use my pedal on this due to the delay interfering with the amount of notes being played, the beginning is a taste of how many time we tried to get a final take.

The problem is because the riff is such an endurance on your fingers you have to stretch and warm up before you get a standard take. The song features different time signatures such as 7/8 and 10/8 using A major changing scale into F major too.

Things to improve on after watching this video:

– Note phrasing = make sure the notes are defined.

– Tempo = try not to speed up
